A virus or not?sys.vbs

Recently about 2 weeks or so I had a problem with the message saying this--> "Can not find script file "C:\WINDOWS\system32\sys.vbs"." This message would be the first thing that I would be see whenever I would turn on the computer. I let it go thinking it was nothing and would later see it through and today I solved the problem by having downloaded a file and run. I even don't know whether it is avirus or not but was able to remove the message and hence the virus or whatever it is.
